Porsche is a German sports car company, recognized for its values of performance, innovation, quality, luxury and tradition. The German brand has been around since 1931. Ferdinand Porsche and his son, Ferry Porsche, created the brand. Over time, it became the manufacturer of the world’s best-selling racing cars, which now race in Brazil in the so-called Porsche Cup C6 Mastercard. It is in this competition that GIC Brasil has been present since the first quarter. “GIC Brasil is an innovation and technology company that shares the values of innovation and performance associated with the Porsche brand,” says the CEO of GIC Brasil, Ivan Fernandes. The Porsche Cup is a national motorsport category that entered this year with fourteen sponsors, including major brands such as Mobil 1, Michelin, Boss and TAG Heuer. GIC Brasil is now one of the sponsors of the Porsche Cup Brasil 2023. More precisely, of car #002, driven by the duo Junior Dinardi and Yuri Alves. On April 15 and 16, the pair will compete in the Velocitta round in Mogi-Guaçu (SP). The event is known for being an important marketing and relationship platform with the public and the sponsors’ clients. But what unites the German brand with the Brazilian retail brand? The use of technology and the innovation needed to produce advanced products and systems. Just as Porsche Cup teams rely on advanced technologies to monitor and drive their cars, supermarkets have also benefited from technological innovations that automate operations and improve efficiency. With due regard for each activity, racing drivers and supermarket stockists need to monitor each stage of their work in real time. In the same way, they both keep an eye on the competition, looking for the best performance. And, equally, everything depends on a lot of planning and effective execution. Opening the store every day with the entire operation set up is the challenge for retailers. In both cases, sophisticated embedded systems enable agile and simplified operations. The CEO of GIC Brasil cites, for example, the RUB system for automated store management, which includes more than 30 functionalities that make it possible to accurately monitor all the internal stages of a store, from the arrival of goods to the sale of products. The system is able to find out where each item is and avoid out-of-stocks when products are missing from the shelf. The management technology makes it possible to keep track of stocks, avoid waste and stock-outs, and ensure that products are available on the shelves. In general, the technology implemented in retail favors the consumer experience, customer loyalty and positive financial results. And despite the machines, which are as necessary as software, the more humanized the technology used – at racetracks or in supermarkets – the easier the process becomes.
